The board is hearing from various labor groups and industry representatives as it considers whether to allow a majority of votes cast to decide elections for union representation at airlines and railroads covered by the Railway Labor Act.

The National Mediation Board is considering changing a practice that has been in place since the 1930s. At present a Union must achieve a "Yes" vote from a majority of workers. Under the proposed change the requirement would change to just a majority of those that voted.
I can't help but think this will drive some shady behavior and possible threats to those workers opposed to union representation. This does not make sense.
